Journey of Apple Developer Academy @BINUS (not finished)

After a  hiatus for about 1 year, I guess, now I'm going to tell you what happen to me,

in Apple Developer Academy.

As for my readers out the wo don't know what Apple Developer is, it's where you learn to make apps, search the problems and solutions within the people, the community, in 9 months.

and I tell you, this program is amazing for me, and for participants.

Okay this is going to be long but bear with me.

Let's start.

Apple Developer Academy first introduced on October(or November? I forgot) 2017, while I was in class. At that time I remembered that a foreign person (Asian) introduced to us what Apple Developer Academy is. After that session, of course I had my dilemma. First one, ofc it's Apple, a very known industry, my CV will be boosted up very quickly and easily to get a job. Second, the time was very, very bad. In 5th semester, I already had a planning for 3+1 program.

3+1 program is my university's program that students have to take some program such as intern, entrepreneur, research, or study abroad. Animation program, which is my department, obligates students to take intern for 1 semester, and other for another semester.

My plan here, was to take intern(wherever) for 1 semester, and research for another semester (for thesis matter). And my plan would be easily broken if I chose Apple Developer Academy. Because that program started on February, and ended on March next year (2019). While my thesis started on February next year (2019). That was a mind whack(?) for me.

Third one, because it was launched in 2018, automatically I became a "guinea pig". Who knows what happen. No testimonial from real accounts in Indonesia. You know what I mean, right....?

Then on my way to home, I told this to my mum. you know what she said,

"Take that program. Go register!"

Then I asked my father, his response was the same. And my instinct said that i should join this program. Bam. I registered in next month.

1 week, 3 weeks, I waited, and waited, and I haven't got any replies. I got nervous. 'What if I didn't get this position? what should I do now?' that's what I thought at that time. Because some of my friends got the position already. Later I realised I got second batch so....I still had hope.

Then I got an email indicated the test time and place. I was very happy and excited, although it's just an email. It was a week later after I got the email.

The test day has begun. The test had 2 hours, in a room inside my campus, and super COLD.

and 1 thing I was sure, that I didn't prepare for this test. I don't know what the test will be....until...

1st section: logic

2nd section: coding + database

3rd section: business

4th section: design

I only nailed at...logic and design sections.....um...What happen to me next... ;_;

Surprisingly, I got enrolled, near the time limit. LOL

On Feb 19th, that day was my first day in Apple Developer Academy. It was located in BINUS University Alam Sutera. And for the first month, we were delivered with Lumina by BINUS' Psychology Department. We were taught how to look people by their persona. (I won't tell you what Lumina is in this blog, please search in google or something.), for a month.

On April 2nd, it was the official day for us to got actual 'work'. it's just another Lumina session again, soo...nothing cool happened.

BUT

We got our device on Firday (phone & laptop) and it was..................wooow.

Then on next week, we had several activities by the first week, including teamwork testing, made workstyle culture, and creative showcase by using stationary and papercraft. We did impressed the GH, the Developers Relations Strategic Initiatives, tho. LOL. GH is the foreign person I mentioned before.

Then the real, real work came on April 16th.

On Monday, we were divided in 4-5 people group to made first app, with just a little knowledge swift (for me). The group members consisted on 2 designers (which were me and my classmate in college), and 2 people from GAT (game tech), and 1 from Business Department. You know what, our first teamwork, didn't work very well, like, literally.

Well let's say my friends initial is G(is my college's classmate), K(from GAT), I(from GAT), and R(from business)

G and K were always fighting each other.
